The marriage produced Carl Heinrich (1783) and Adelheid Henriette (1784). It was dissolved in 1788 — the only documented divorce among the connections listed here. Henriette later married Baron Paul Wilhelm von Wilczeck and, in a third marriage, Major Karl Friedrich August von Gontard.
Henriette's father was Heinrich Gottlob von Braun (1717–1798), son of Adam Friedrich von Braun of Giersleben, a district captain in Anhalt-Köthen. He served Frederick the Great in the Silesian Wars — Mollwitz, Kesselsdorf, Lobositz, Breslau, Zorndorf — became commandant of Berlin and, in 1794, general of infantry, bearer of the Pour le Mérite and of the Order of the Black Eagle. His name appears on the equestrian monument to Frederick the Great on Unter den Linden; he is buried in the governors' vault of the Berlin garrison cemetery. The connection places the von Gerlach family in the Berlin military and administrative circles of the Frederician age. Whether the family held baronial rank is not documented.
